"Chris did start his training with us in March 1998 in order to support our efforts for increased team work and customer service (all closely linked of course to effective communication). His training work was very valuable to us, and he helped us tremendously to define and implement the new ,'service and support' model.

Chris Lonsdale writes...

Recently, I've come across a young lady in Northern China who has been able to master English to a very high level. She has read The Third Ear, and has given a lot of feedback to indicate how closely the ideas in the book parallel her own experience.

Given that resonance, she has undertaken to share her experience of learning English in the middle of a Chinese environment.

As she sends her thoughts, I wil post them here to the site.

Here is the first one:

Dear Chris,
Here comes my personal English-learning experience.

I achieved fluent English mainly at college,
especially during the first two years there. First of
all, I'd stress the emotional factor, which had played
a major part in my successfully mastering the
language. At that time, I was totally in love with
English. I thought it's a beautiful language, and i
was determined to become a fluent speaker. Studying
English always came first, and whatever i did served
this priority. When i was crazy about the language,
all the hard work involved in learning it seemed
nothing to me. There's simple pleasure of hearing
English, especially hearing myself speaking English.
This strong passion for the language had made my
learning journey easy and fun. When others ask me how
to study English well, I always start replying with a
question -"Do you like English?" When the answer is
"yes", I'd congratulate him/her, as I'm sure they'll
enjoy the learning process just as i did.
